Estate Sale Finds

I didn’t get to this estate sale until the 2nd day and I still found some pretty awesome treasures.
Like this beautiful oak washstand.  It was already painted and beautiful when I found it.

Beautiful gold knobs and handles!  The whole thing has kind of a golden glow.

I also picked up some linens, monogrammed hankies and another Quaker made tablecloth. I also picked up this cute black and white polka dot rooster baking dish.

It is four pieces total.  The lid and base as see you here, a trivet that the base is sitting on and the basket that holds it all together.

I bought a couple of bags of old wooden thread spools, some children’s books from the 40’s and 50’s, the vintage sifter and two teacups and saucers (like I need more teacups!)

I can’t help it.  There’s just something about them. The dainty flowers, the delicate handles.  If Teacups could talk what would these say?  Have they been used to share with a friend, to bring comfort to someone who was down, or a cup of  healing to a  sick loved one?

Or did they sit in a china cabinet somewhere just to show off their beauty?  What would your teacups say?

The washstand definitely shows off next to my 40’s painted kitchen cabinet.  “Little Goldie.”

I also found these posters of Scarlett O’hara and Rhett Butler at the Goodwill a couple of weeks ago.  I framed them and they went to my booth in time for Valentine’s Day.  I hope some romantic “just has to have ’em”.
