Simply Real Faith

Encouraging and Equipping Women through Biblical Discipleship

Hello

My given name is Jocelyne, but my friends and family call me Jo.   It was  easier for people to say and then it just stuck.  It feels right though, Jo suits me.

I live in Colorado with my large family of 4 daughters, 1 son, 2 sons-in-law,  11 grandchildren and 2 Maltese dogs.  I have been married to my husband, whom I often refer to as Sweet William, for 40+ years.

Before starting my blog,  I worked for 20 years as a legal secretary and 12 years as an employment specialist where I helped disabled youth pursue their passions and find their first jobs.   More importantly, I gave my life to Jesus 30 years ago and have been serving him through my church in various ministries ever since.

The most recent, and longest service as the kitchen manager.   This  ministry cooks for and serves 15 to 1500 people at a time, depending on the function.   I love to lead, teach, and encourage those in the kitchen ministry to not just prepare large meals, but also how to show love through serving others.  I also love to inspire people to reach for their God given potential and to walk confidently in what He has called them to do.

When I am not cooking or planning for a crowd, I can be found enjoying my writing or creating displays in my boutique at a local antique mall where I sell vintage furniture, craft items and other collectables.   At the end of day, when my work is done, one of my favorite things to do is cuddle up in my favorite chair with a cup of hot tea,  homemade cookies and a good book.
