White Fever

I used to like bolder colors, but ever since I started following these beautiful white lovin’ blogs I’m being changed! So is my house!  It is calmer, and softer and I’m loving it.  I have a long way to go to make all of the changes, and hopefully I will get it done before white is not popular anymore.  Can that happen?  Be not popular anymore I mean.  I am always so “behind the times.”

These are some of my latest Goodwill finds.  Love, Love the lace heart pillows and the Royal Haegar bowl and pitcher is pretty nice too.  It is going to my antiques booth.  I’ve sold 3 different ones in the past year.  I hope this sells fast.

Couldn’t help but pick this up. So cute, it’ll go fast too.  Little frames always do.
This Bee-u-ti-ful lace tablecloth was just $2.00!  It has a small tag that says Quaker made and fits perfectly on my 8 top dining table.  This one is staying home with me.
And the soup tureen.  I’m keeping it for awhile too.  That’s one of the neat things about having a booth, if I decide later that I don’t want it or need it, I can put it in my booth.  I had 15 soup tureens, all white, at one point and have paired down my collection by taking 5 of them to my booth.  Now here I went and bought another!
The pillows I’ll put in my booth.  If they don’t go, I won’t mind bringing them back home with me.
What do you think?  Will they go quick?  I only put $10.00 a piece on them.

My DH (darling husband) base paints most of my furniture.  He’s not a blogger and doesn’t think about taking before pics so I can’t show you what these tables used to look like.

He was really disappointed that he couldn’t totally strip all of the old stain off of this table and it bled through.  I had to remind him that we do things “shabby” around here and I, on the other hand, was pleased that it bled through.  I got some sand paper to it and shabbied it up some more.  The “stain” looks like we did it on purpose.

I then added a waterslide decal that I got from Carol at the Polka Dot Closet .  I wanted to keep it.

But it is going to my booth today.  Somebody is gonna love it.

We also painted this little girl and I used a stencil to add the fleur de lis.

This valet was all his.  He took it apart, sanded it and painted it this sexy satin black.

I’ve never seen one with this big of tray.  It looks so nice.

Everything is all tagged up and ready to go.

I’m joining the following parties this week:

  1. Hi Jocelyne,
Love all the lace, the quaker lace is gorgeous, and the hearts, sooo sweet:-) Your table turned out gorgeous, my husband woulda been the same way about the bleed thru, those flaws are what make it amazing, great job!!

  2. Jocelyne, you really found some great items. I think that the pillows will sale fast. Especially with Valentines just around the corner. I have painted two furniture pieces white in the last couple weeks and starting on an old desk tomorrow. Still. like a pop of color now and then. A bit jealous that hubby base coats for you. I love the stain to show through and often only give one coat. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
    hugs,
    Jann
