We had a long day today and ended it with a restful tea on the deck. Nothing fancy, just shortbread cookies fromWalmart and sweet tea that I made earlier today. To my MacKenzie it was the best. Jace thought his sister’s hat was to play with…
There was no view of the mountains today because of the smoke from the Arizona fires. Remember to pray for those involved with the fire and that it will soon be contained. On a clear day there is a beautiful view of the mountain range just in the background here.
We used my violet tea set that was a gift from my husband a few years ago. It was purchased at Bernideen’s Store here in Old Colorado City.
Are they violets or pansies? They kind of look the same, I have these “volunteers” that grow in the path every year. Sometimes they are in the grass. I’ve heard them referred to as “Johnny Jump Ups.” I can’t believe I am showing you a picture of my “weeds!”
I think they are prettier on the table – don’t you?
And they match my set – isn’t that cool?
I hope you rest, have tea, and enjoy yourself for the remainder of the weekend. I know I will.
Have you ever been given a scripture over and over? You read it, then you hear someone say it, then someone else and on and on. Well I’ve been getting Romans 8:28 “All things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to his purpose.” I will rest in this Word and know that all things will work out, because I love Him. I pray you find this rest too.
I’m joining Bernideen’s Saturday Tea in the Garden and Martha and Terri’s TeaCup Tuesday. I am also joining with Sandi for Tea Time Tuesday and Teapot and Tea Things with Wanda Lee.

Jocelyne: This is a fabulous post – how darling and I am so glad you jumped in here! Have a wonderful weekend!
Isn't it amazing how plants will grow in the tiniest places!! Your violet china is lovely! Be sure to come by my blog… I'm having a tea cozy giveaway.
The grandbabies are adorable! The little girl's smile in the first photo is priceless. Your flowers are pansies. Did you know they are edible? Violets are as well. Your tea table looks very pretty.
Blessings, Beth
Hi: Nothing is better than having tea with the Grandbabies and yours are beautiful. I love the table and all the amazing plants. Thank you for sharing them with us. Blessings, Martha
Hello Jocelyne,
what a fun tea party. Your grandkids are real treasues. I love your tea set and I am not amazed when I read, you bought it in Bernideen's store. She has always the best china. Would love to shop there. And your little Jonnys are too cute. No, they are no weed! They just jumped up from the flowerbed and grow now on your pavement.
Best greetings, Johanna
I really love that you share your joy of tea cups with the grand children. I will have to do the same with my grand son (he's two) Don't think he will keep it up but he loves drinking out of cups 😉
Love Dawn xx
Hi Jocelyne,
What a sweet little tea party! Your little ones are adorable! I love your pretty teapot from Bernideen's shop and the tea cups are lovely too. I have a plate very similar to yours. I believe those are pansies on the teapot and they do match your pretty johnny-jump-ups very well. And no the johnnies are not weeds. Thank you for sharing your scripture verse today. It has always been a favourite. Have a delightful day.
Blessings,
Sandi
Wonderful tea party with your adorable grands! Love the pansies/johnny jump ups … they are such happy flowers! Happy Tea Day!
I enjoyed visiting your garden tea. Your grandkids are very sweet and I'm sure a blessing to have close by you. Your tea set is so pretty and I love the johnny jump-ups. A perfect match! Blessings, Pamela
Your tea table is set for a lovely afternoon in the garden. Violets seem to be a volunteer plant that show up in the most unlikely places.
I love your pictures! And such a lovely tea set

A very special tea with the grandbabies! I ended up with 3 grandsons…no grand dughters. They were NOT interested in tea parties! Sigh…you are blessed!

Will certainly pray for those in the path of these fires. Hope you're far far away! Love tea setting! The set is beautiful and I just love finding violets growing in cracks and unusual places – they always make me smile.

Such a great moment with your grandbabies around with you, I love your pretty violets teacup.
