Taking Care of Home Addition
Something else that I really wanted to add, especially for those of you that have little ones running around, your house doesn’t have to be magazine perfect! It really is okay if there are toys in the living room, if they are playing with playdoh on the kitchen table, or Legos in the family room. I know all of these things make messes, but you know what Mama? One day all of the playdoh, Legos, and baby dolls will be put away to make room for teenage things. (Legos may never get put away!)
All you will have left are memories of them. We want those memories to be of your beautiful babies playing make-believe while you were making dinner, right? After all, it is their home too and they need to be able to rest, relax and have fun in it.
It is up to you to teach them how to pick up after themselves when the time comes. Provide them with a basket or bucket to put their toys away when you need them to. These are habits that will last a lifetime if they catch on now!
Included on this page are links to some of the blogs and home organization websites I follow. One, like the Flylady, I have been following since she started in the year 2000! I am to the point now where I don’t read all of her emails but I do follow her system of decluttering. I really like her because she speaks to us right where we are. She is a prayer warrior! She loves Jesus. I’ve heard her rebuke the enemy on her daily podcast and many times give Glory to God for all things.
I also read the weekly blog of Andrea Dekker. I look forward to her weekly blog actually. She has good ideas for organizing, recipes, and just living simply. I found her last year and I’ve read some of her older posts and they’ve been helpful. Check her out.
This blog has proven to be helpful as well, Becoming Minimalist.
I’m sure you have found some blogs and tips that help you out. If you want, leave that information in the comments! I am sure it will help others too.
